Animal InstinctWhat would manner be like without a mother or a initiate? What would life be likewithout any adult supervision? How would a psyche act if they did not have troupe to tell them what is adjust and wrong? Author William Golding believesthat a person that wasnt brought up by society would only act using their basichuman nature. It is also a part of his believes that this nature is evil. Inhis novel, Lord of the Flies, Golding proves his ideas on the evil at the baseof the human nature through the lives of hoggish, Ralph, Roger, and Jack, whom areall childly boys trapped on a deserted island in the Pacific. neanderthal was anonathletic, fat child with glasses and asthma. He was the child who was least set up by the evil inside of himself. neanderthal was also the most skilfulchild on the island, and this news show is what kept him from giving in tohis evil. This intelligence was also thought by Jack to be a threat. Piggylived in fear of Jack because he knew what type of person he was and that hecould not be trusted. On page 93 Piggy expresses his fears by telling Ralph, Im affright of him and that is why I know him. If your scared of someone youhate him but you cant stop thinking about him. In this it is obvious thatPiggy is scared of Jack, so much so that he thinks about him constantly and nowhe has him figured out. This is why Piggy is unaffected by his evil. He seeswhat is happening to everyone else through Jack. The other person who wasntovercome by their evil is Ralph. Ralph was an older child, and he was anathletic natural leader. He was the leader of the tribe until the children begandoing what Jack said. Although he never alone surcame to it, Ralph wastempted by evil. One instance happened when Jack and his unravelers came back froma hunt and began to dance. The story on page 75 says, Ralph watched them prehensilely and resentful. He was envious of the other children because they gotto dance and chant, but he knew that it was wr ong, so he did not join in, andduring this time while he was being tempted he set Piggy terribly. Hebegan to do what Jack said. Once when Jack brought the bosom back from one ofthe hunts he gave everyone a piece except for Piggy, and when he complained
